State of the Projects - April 2014
Nope, not one day has progressed. Still on the first day of January.

State of the Projects - March 2014
Still on the first week of January, but I have actually crossed some stuff off my list! ...Sadly, it was only reading-related goals that I finished.
Meh, I'm going to get some sleep tonight (28th of February) and then draw and draw and draw and draw and draw and draw. And write and write. And brainstorm. My creativity is finally coming back to the point where I've been thinking about Dark Writer-ish things.
Also, I caught a Stringfish on Animal Crossing: New Leaf. That is all.

State of the Projects - February 2014
Thought it would be easier to type on the computer than on the tablet. That's only slightly true. My arms aren't long enough to reach where my computer now sits on my desk (thanks to my graphics tablet), so I have to stand to type...
So, anyways, Happy New Moon everyone. Well, it will be the first of February when you read this, but it's the new moon while I type this out 'cause I gotta work the next couple of days. Such pleasantries do not disguise the fact that I accomplished nothing art-related this month. So I told myself... well, there's always the fiscal New Year~ ... but I looked it up on Wikipedia and found that I could pretty much take my pick, because the government, different corporations/companies/economic entities, and different countries all "celebrate" the fiscal New Year at different times, so... no.
So the Lunar New Year. Thank you for being there so I don't feel all hope is lost. :D
But you only come once a year, so maybe those fiscal years will still be good back-up...
Out of eight planners, I'm still stuck on the first week of January. I guess that's a good way to measure my progress, since after cleaning my desk, I'm loathe to stack more stuff around it. See, what I did was stack aaaaall the stuff I wanted to get done in January on or around my desk. I have not completed it. I have done bits and pieces but not actually finished anything. That means reading books and magazines, too. The only thing I finished was cleaning my desk and I'm not completely satisfied with that job either. Because there's so much stuff still stacked around it. So, before I take out the stuff I wanted to get done in February, I'm going to finish the stuff I wanted to complete in January. I just hope I'm not still on January in December, like I've been for the past three-four years (I started making these planners after I graduated college.)
This is a sign that I schedule too much stuff for me to do, but it was the only way to divide EVERYTHING I wanted to do in one year's time, and then each year I kept coming up with more stuff I wanted to get done, and bought or received more art supplies that I wanted to use. Or books that I wanted to read. Or notebooks that I wanted to write in. Or games that I wanted to play. Heck, I'm even behind on cuddling my stuffed animals. I better go get on that.
Well, I don't really deserve an allowance this month since I failed miserably. So I allowed myself ten bucks on myself... on a plush T-Rex. I mean, at least I have a job, I should be proud of that, right? Kinda bummed out, though, that I didn't reach my goal that would have allowed myself to spend fifty dollars on myself (or more, if I sold art work.) I really wanted to buy some Morning Musume albums for myself. But this is motivation to work harder next month, right? And at least the money I would've spent on my hobby is being spent on my family's bills, so that's not a bad trade-off at all.
Okie dokie, see ya next week. I'll be taking pictures of my sketches and WIPs and posting them here. I won't even bother scanning until I have a sizable collection of inked or colored drawings to post. So that explains my lack of presence on dA. Okay, see ya later.

State of the Projects - January 2014
This time I'm not going to list all my projects. This year I'm only going to report on what I got done and some indication or percentage of how well I stacked up to my expectations. I'll divide them into the following categories in order of most to least important...
Art
Writing (Novels and Comics)
Writing (Blogs)
Reading
Cleaning
Other Goals From My To-Do Lists
...Those last five don't really have anything to do with this blog, but it's a way for me to keep track of my overall productivity... or what I'm spending time on the most at the expense of my art.
I didn't do anything art related in December or get much in the way of personal goals accomplished, so I'll call this a post. Next month's State of the Projects post should be huuuuuge, though.

State of the Projects - December 2013
It's the 26th and I'm typing this out and my head feels like it's going to explode when I think of all I want to get done and I haven't. I don't know how much I'll get done with NaNo in the next four days, but it's not looking good. Still haven't picked up a pencil except to write stuff down. But that still hasn't stopped me from dreaming and I've been thinking and having lots of hope for next year. I've got all the stuff amassed on or around my desk of the stuff I want to get done before the end of January. Things are falling in place where you may expect to see more digital art from me and more of an online presence. I'm prioritizing again, and still realizing the stuff I do with my closest family and friends are the most fulfilling.
Next time I post to this blog, it will be a New Year, and I'll have a new format to this State of the Projects. I hope to post a lot more art-wise to social media, well, at least to Tumblr and maybe turning my G+ profile into an "official" artist page or something. I don't know what to do with Facebook, though it could also be useful as an artist profile. If I look at it like that, then maybe social media will be less draining to me. I've been using the Internet less and less because it feels like... shackles. I'm not the kind of person to have a lot of friends, preferring to stick with a handful of close besties (they know who they are~) and eventually I get overwhelmed when I feel there's a bunch of acquaintances expecting me online all the time (or I'm expecting myself to be polite and give them as much attention as I do my closest friends) when... well... now I probably sound really harsh. XD I'm just getting a social burnout. Being around too many people has always made me nervous and uncomfortable. I don't want them all to follow me home. I want to spend my free time with the people I'm closest and most comfortable with and doing the things that make me the most happy and feeling productive, and I'm just getting stressed out from being too nice all the time. I want to be nice to people without being trampled or pressured. ;_; Ugh, this turned into more of a personal journal than an art blog post. But it's just pouring out as I'm typing this. I don't know if this makes me a horrible person or what, since I basically said I want a bunch of people to leave me alone, even get out of my life, even though they didn't do anything wrong. But yeah.
So over the next month, I'm trying to use this re-focus so I can restart next year. More art, more professionalism, and more time with the people who matter most (family and closest friends.) Oh, and more Pokemon, H!P, and other hobbies as fun and not as an escape.

State of the Projects - November 2013
This coming month... commissions and NaNo are all that I ask of myself. It would be nice if I could sneak some of my other to-do list stuff in, too, but please, self, please get commissions and NaNo done this month.
'Cause Pokemon and Ace Attorney are freakin' awesome. 8D

State of the Projects - October 2013
I'm typing this out early since I don't know when I'll get on my laptop next (I've mostly been using my tablet, and I'm still not super at typing on it.) Still no real headway on my art and writing projects, though I've made a little bit of headway in life (I got my learner's permit!) Over the next month I still intend to work on my goals while working on commissions, as well as layout my plans for NaNo (I really can't escape from it.) I still want to get as much done as possible this year so I can feel fresh in 2014.
But the new Pokemon games are sneaking up on me... I'm going to need a lot of self control come the twelfth.
